Programme profile


In this programme. you will work with cutting edge technologies to learn how to build the future through making games: learning how to deploy technologies and how they can be used to invent with. This four-year international programme focuses on students who want to dive into the broad and fast changing field of digital technology.

Project-work is at the core of the curriculum - working in teams to create something new. In these modules, you learn to implement professional practices, collaboration and responsibility, whilst making games and other digital products and solutions.

Within the projects, you along with your class and teachers look on a week-by-week basis at what skills you need at the current stage of your project: each project offers a sizable set of choice topics, like physical prototyping, asset creation, game engine scripting and usage, creative media theory and many others - core skills you might want to directly implement in your project and build your skill set as an up-and-coming industry professional.

From the third year, you will be able to choose your own study path. You will complete an internship in the Netherlands or abroad at a company that suits your learning objectives. Additionally, you have the option to specialise in a subject that you find interesting by choosing a minor, either in Groningen or in another country. Electives include 3D & Animation, social media or photography. As a minor you could choose Game On, Applied Psychology or Art & Technology.

The fourth year is built around your graduation assignment. You will look for creative solutions for a complex CGMT challenge. In consultation with companies and university faculty, you complete an innovative graduation assignment. During the year, you will follow opportunity to selects further elective modules.

Entry Requirements


2 A-Levels and 4 GCSEs or relevant BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma

Five passes at Leaving Cert (minimum 200 points) OR relevant QQi/FETAC Level 5. Subjects to include Maths.
