Programme profile

Do you want to become an artist, photographer, film-maker or curator? Discover Fine Art in Arnhem (also called Base for Art, Experiment and Research, in short BEAR), a place for experimentation at the heart of society.

On this programme:

- You will study art in a dynamic, ambitious and investigative environment.
- You will work in your own studio surrounded by fellow students and with experts in
multidisciplinary workshops and research laboratories.
- You will be part of a community that is actively involved in current debates and
which
challenges you to take a stand.

By the time you graduate, you will have developed into an artist with a distinctive voice and story, who is able to infuse your work and the world with your own meaning.

You attend this course in Arnhem, where there is a strong focus on independent entrepreneurship.

Programme content

This programme begins with an adventurous first year, with a strong emphasis on creation. You will be introduced to different approaches to art, from which, at the end of the year, you will choose to pursue one of them. You will discover your own preferences and qualities, will be better able to work with them and will become acquainted with various aspects of the art world. In the BFA Arnhem, you will be assigned to one of our tutors. You will be part of a tutorgroup and will work in your own space or studio. You will follow lectures, go on study trips and choose from a wide range of projects, theory classes and workshop courses
