The Università del Piemonte Orientale “Amedeo Avogadro” (“Amedeo Avogadro” University of Eastern Piedmont) was established in 1998. The University is located in three cities (Alessandria, Novara, Vercelli.

The University offers a full range of academic disciplines (Economics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Political Science, Medicine and Surgery, Natural Sciences, Law, Humanities) that are organized so as to embrace a large number of activities. There are basic and representative courses, laboratories, apprenticeships, training periods and international exchanges. In order to improve mobility at all levels and provide an opportunity for students and researchers to spend a period abroad and complement their studies and research, the University has established a series of international relationships with European and non-European universities.

One of its particlar strengths is its excellent  teacher/student ratio.
