The University of Gothenburg is a traditional European University, situated in the city centre in buildings boasting a range of architectural styles.
With approximately 37,000 students, studying programmes from undergraduate to PhD level, it is one of the major universities in northern Europe. It is also one of the most popular universities in Sweden ﾖ the University of Gothenburg has the highest number of applicants to many programmes and courses. The Universityﾒs roughly 40 different Departments cover most disciplines, making it one of Swedenﾒs broadest and most wide-ranging higher education institutions.
The Universityﾒs eight faculties offers education in the Creative Arts, Social Sciences, natural Sciences, Humanities, Education, Information Technology, Business, Economics and Law, and Health Sciences [including its Med School at Sahlgrenska University Hospital].
