Since its foundation in 1888, Sofia University [St. Kliment Ohridski] has been the largest, and one of the leading, higher educational institutions in Bulgaria. It is the only the Bulgarian university to feature in the QS World University Rankings 2018.

Its 21,000 students study in 16 main faculties, including Mathematics and Informatics, Physics & Mathematics, Medicine, Chemistry & Pharmacy, Biology, Journalism and Mass Communication, Theology, Law, Education, Geography & Geology, Philosophy, Economics and Business Administration, and, its oldest, History and Philology.

Accommodation


The monthly  student hostel accommodation rent is about EURO 70 per month. Most international students prefer to rent or share a private flat near the University: monthly rent is from  EUR 200 to 300.
