Programme profile

The first three semesters of the programme give general knowledge in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology at a university level. Moreover, several engineering basic courses in: material engineering, descriptive geometry and engineering graphics, material endurance and construction mechanics as well as thermodynamics and fluid mechanics are offered to give students a comprehensive understanding of environmental issues. Scientific and engineering courses are complemented by social sciences and humanities topics to broaden study perspectives and to enhance students' management and communication skills.

The next three semesters cover specific subjects within the field of environmental engineering. The main topics are the following: hydrology, meteorology, soil protection, water resources protection, air pollution control, energy systems and environment, solid waste management, municipal and industrial waste water treatment.

The seventh semester is mostly dedicated to work on the final project and preparation of an engineering paper on a topic chosen by the student and accepted by their academic supervisor. In this project, the student should use acquired knowledge to correctly analyse a given problem and provide the proper solution.
