Murcia, is a university town in south-eastern Spain. With a population of nearly 450,000, it is Spain’s seventh-largest city. It is Spain’s premier naval port. It is located on the Segura River, in the Southeast of the Iberian Peninsula, noted by a mild climate with hot summers, mild winters, relatively low precipitation.

Lonely Planet describes Murcia as “pinched between the more-trodden beaches of Almería to the south and the heaving resorts of Valencia’s Costa Blanca to the north, Murcia is one of Spain’s least visited and, the peninsula of La Manga apart, least touristy corners”
