Programme profile
This exciting fine art programme in experimental and interactive media allows students the opportunity to master a wide range of digital media, including advanced animation techniques, digital video, web and sound production.
This undergraduate programme works towards a Fine Art Experimental Media Bachelor’s degree at the end of the third year, accredited by the Teesside University. Applicants with previous university education in other fields of art and design may apply directly into the second or third year.
Programme content
An academic team of specialist practitioners works in partnership with an established programme of visiting artists to ensure you have access to a diverse and extensive range of fine art expertise. You will be in contact with artist-led organizations, have the opportunity to establish a support network for arts practice and undertake study visits directly related to your personal research.
Progress tutorials throughout the programme are designed to help you develop clear and realistic objectives for continued professional development and employment.
In Year 1, students focus on a wide range of multimedia skills and study key software applications.
In Year 2, students develop professional and management skills and develop key software applications further in the context of artistic practice. Wider and more creative solutions are encouraged. Students continue to build a distinctive body of work, participate in group projects, work more independently and design a final portfolio for presentation.
In Year 3, students discuss and agree topics of their choice for the final major project, visual production, and reflective case study.
