Programme profile

As an animal lover, do you have an eye for social developments? Do you want to make a difference in the (inter)national agro-food sector as a researcher, advisor, entrepreneur or manager? Then this current, challenging study suits you.

You will learn everything about the animal and about healthy and sustainable business operations. For example, you will take courses on animal health, reproduction and nutrition, but also on marketing and entrepreneurship. During your studies, you will develop innovative business models that do justice to the animal, the farmer and society. So you also think about ethical issues in the field of animal welfare. Consider separating calf and cow, docking pig tails and using sensors and technology.

And the major social challenges for the agro-food sector are also discussed. Will there be enough food on earth for 11 billion people in 2050? Is our soil fertile enough, what about biodiversity and the impact of the sector on the environment?

You will learn to look at these issues with a broad perspective and work together with other parties on sustainable solutions. This way you can contribute to a healthy and responsible sector. Ambitious and innovative professionals like you are demanded and appreciated worldwide!
