Programme profile
This programme trains you to be an all-round, professional dancer. ArtEZ regards all students as being both dancers and dancemakers because the inventive dancer - who contributes ideas and creativity - is essential to today"s profession.
Only a limited number of talented dancers are accepted on this course. ArtEZ School of Dance is specifically looking for people who, through their uniqueness, are able to imbue dance with an extra dimension
The programme is based on the principle of providing the right information at the right moment. This means that throughout the year you will learn in phases. The programme places considerable emphasis on health. In addition, the importance is stressed of giving yourself both the time and space for reflection so that you are truly able to digest what you learn.
You are give responsibilty for creating links between the various sections and periods of your education.This responsibility increases the further you progress on the course. Consequently, you will become gradually more independent and better able to take on the professional world.
Programme content
Dance Techniques: Classical, Modern, Contemporary, Contact Improvisation and Partnering
Auxiliary Techniques: Pilates, Fitness, Relaxation and Yoga
Theory: Music, History of Dance and Anatomy
Miscellaneous: Theatre Technique; Costume; Performance Support
Progression
The Academy offers a related Masters programme, taught through English, in the following area:
- Dance Choreography

2 A-Levels and 4 GCSEs or relevant BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma
5 passes at Leaving Cert (minimum 200 points), OR relevant QQI/FETAC Level 5
