Programme profile

Telecommunication engineers are the creators of the modern technologies that enable inhabitants of the global village to communicate through various types of networks, from cellular phones to the Internet, from networks for television signal broadcasting to those serving telemedicine. Telecommunications engineers know the background elements underpinning these networks and related wireless connections, fibre optic systems, terrestrial and satellite radio links. In all these areas, a graduate in Telecommunications Engineering can operate in the areas of planning, research, development, production, marketing, operation and maintenance.

Students in Telecommunications Engineering learn techniques for transmitting information (in a voice call, a multimedia film, a song, the data measured by a detector located on the slopes of a volcano, images observed by a satellite, the electrocardiogram measured on board a mountain rescue helicopter, a message posted on Facebook or on Twitter), from the source producing the data to the end user.

The programme objectives are achieved through a multidisciplinary programme, ranging over many aspects of the world of ICT - Information and Communication Technology. In addition to topics relating to telecommunications in the strictest sense, students also acquire skills in electronics, information and basic physics and mathematics.

Fees can be discounted to Eur387, with reference to family income
