Programme profile


If you choose the Economics and Business Economics programme, you will see how business experts and policymakers attempt to stimulate both corporate and economic activity. The programme will give you the theoretical tools and analytical skills needed to address complex and sometimes controversial issues.

During the first year: the foundation year: all students take the same courses. From year two you choose one of three specialisations@

- Business Economics
- Economics
- Economic Development and Globalisation.

In the latter specialisation a study period abroad is compulsory; in the other two specialisations, this is optional.

Note: The International Foundation Year

This is a one-year programme, specially designed for international students who do not meet the requirements for direct entry to an undergraduate (Bachelor of Science) degree programme at the Faculty of Economics and Business, and from which they can progress to one of these undergraduate programmes.
