Programme profile

This programmeis taught on SDU's Sonderbrog campus.

During your studies you will work with the development of mechatronic products, i.e. intelligent products which include mechanical, electronic and software based solutions. This could be industrial robots, anti-lock braking systems, power assisted steering, electrical sewing machines and everyday products such as DVD recorders and autofocus in cameras. In the programme you gain broad engineering related knowledge through basic courses in mechanics, electronics, programming, mathematics and physics. You gain insight in non-technical aspects as well as marketing, design and production.

Each semester has its own theme in the field of mechatronics. The themes consist of a combination of lessons in theory and project assignments. The themes are: Discover Mechatronics; Build Mechatronics; Develop Mechatronics: Mechatronics and the Environment; Experts in Teams . You then specialise, either nanotechnology, embedded systems or dynamic mechatronic systems. On the programme, you become part of a project based and problem based study environment where you work in project groups together with your fellow students.

First job guarantee scheme

Companies from Southern Denmark and accross the border in Germany have created, together with the university, a unique “first job guarantee” scheme that offers new graduates 6 months employment, if they have not already landed their first job
