Programme profile


This programme, currently taught in groups of approximately 60-80 students, employing the system of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in its educational activities. After completing the programme, students can continue with the master's programme in Dutch. They can also follow parts of their master's programme abroad.

The central concepts of the programme are globalisation and international collaboration. This can be interesting to you as a future medical doctor in several ways. First of all, doctors at home are increasingly confronted with patients from different cultural backgrounds and who speak different languages. Secondly, as a result of global mobility, doctors will see an increasing number of patients with disorders that do not normally occur at home.

Year 1: Growth and Development; Breathing and Circulation; Regulation and Integration; Thinking and Doing; Digestion and Defense;Diabetes, Obesity and Lifestyle

Year 2: Cell Growth; Pregnancy-birth-growth; Fertility, Pregnancy, Childhood; Puberty and adolescence; Adulthood, work and health ; Ageing; Abdominal complaints - outside Europe and north-America

Year 3: Abdomen; Locomotor apparatus; Circulation and lungs: Psychomedical problems and mental health care

Completion of this Master's programme qualifies graduates to register as medical doctors in all EU member states

Entry Requirements


3 A-Levels (Grades at B or above preferred) + 1 A-S Level (Grade B or above) Biology & Chemistry required at A2. Maths & Physics required at AS or above.

Scottish Students are required to have a SQC with 2 Advanced Highers and at least 4 Highers. Subjects to include Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

IB: Mathematics Analysis and Approaches HL or SL or Mathematics Applications and Interpretation HL; Physics and Chemistry SL or HL; Biology HL

 

Six subjects at Leaving Certificate including at least three at H5. Subjects to include Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, all at Higher level.
