Programme profile

This programme aims at training nurses who understand the principles, theories and methods of nursing, have broad knowledge of nursing science, and who are able to independently and critically evaluate the nursing needs of healthy persons and chronically ill people with different somatic and mental health diseases, and develop a greater sense of both personal and professional value systems

Emphasis is placed on clinical practice and work with patients: at the end of each semester, students perform clinical training, which is a central part of the development of their practical skills. The competencies, which are expected to be achieved during clinical training, correspond to the EU directives 2005/36/EC and 2013/55/EU

The LSMU Hospital, Kaunas Red Cross Nursing and Palliative Care Hospital, Kaunas Clinical Hospital, Kaunas Child Development Hospital and Child Mental Retardation Centre offer excellent environments for gaining practical skills.

Low-interest loans of c. Eur 3500 pa are available from the Lithuanian government, either as a contribution to living expenses OR as a contribution to Tuition Fees.
