Programme profile


The programme aims to provide students with knowledge about biochemical processes in the human body, changes to it in the event of diseases, the epidemiology of the most common diseases, their aetiology and principles of treatment as well as drug pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, metabolism and interaction.

Note: fees increase to EUR 9000 in Years 3-5

Programme content


In the first two years, students study:
- Chemistry: inorganic, organic, and medical chemistry, qualitative and quantitative analysis, medical biochemistry;
- Basics of medicine: anatomy, cytology and genetics, normal and pathological physiology, microbiology, environmental health
- Advanced mathematics, computer literacy, physics, medical and pharmaceutical terminology in Latin, plant and animal biology, philosophical anthropology.

In the 3rd and 4th year students study: pharmaceutical subjects such as pharmacognosis, pharmaceutical chemistry, dosage form technology, practical pharmacy, social pharmacy and legal aspects of pharmaceutics;

In the 5th year students spend six months in placement, working in a pharmacy, during which students deepen their theoretical knowledge, and acquire skills for their future work. At the end of th 5th year students must present and defend their research paper, and pass several national degree exam

Progression


The University doesn't currently offer any related PhD programmes, taught through English.
