Universidad Católica de Murcia (UCAM) was founded in 1996, as a private Catholic university. It currently has some 15,500 students, following a wide range of undergraduate and master’s programmes. The syllabi of all of its programmes include a humanities element,  rooted in the principles of Christian humanism. The university clarifies how its educational goals is "to train professionals capable of transforming society, creating equality and promoting improvements that enable the shaping of a fairer world, respecting the dignity of man from conception to natural death"

UCAM is  5 km. from the city of Murcia. Students benefit from the university’s sporting reputation [with teams in Football & Basketball playing at a national level] through having access to its fabulous Sports Centre.
