The University of Iceland, founded 1911, is a comprehensive university, offering study and research in almost 400 programmes spanning most academic fields. It provides education on Bachelors, Masters and Phd levels. It has some 14,000 students in its five schools: Health Science, Engineering and Science, Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences. The University of Iceland offers various programmes taught in English, largely at Master's level.
It is ranked among the best 300 universities in the world, according to the Times Higher Education Rankings.
