University of Tubingen





Founded in 1477, the Eberhard Karls Universitat Tubingen is one of Europe"s oldest universities. Tubingen is a traditional university town: In addition to nearly 85,000 inhabitants, there are 24,000 German and international students.

The University"s recent history is marked by tremendous growth - the boom in Medicine and the Life Sciences as well as in other scientific areas has led to significant expansion. The broad spectrum of subjects offered by the University of Tubingen promotes interdisciplinary communication benefiting research and has lead to areas of specialist research that have attracted attention from around the world.

The University has partnerships with 180 educational institutions in 45 countries, particularly in north America, Asia and Latin America, as well as with all the countries in Europe. Some 15 percent of students in Tubingen come from abroad.
