Programme profile
This programme aims to provide design skills and knowledge that will enable students to pursue their studies to Masters level or to enter the architect"s profession.
Graduates will be able to design simple civic buildings using standard methodologies and carry out detailed surveys of contemporary and historical buildings as well as collaborating in architectural design at different levels, from conception to completion to management, using his/her analytical and critical skills

Programme content
The course focuses on the practice of architectural design in its various aspects and at different levels, incorporating both manual and digital input.
In the first year, students will study modules in mathematics, history, technology and drawing. There is also a multidisciplinary atelier offering an overview of the subjects: architectural design, urban planning and construction - that encompass the diverse topics and levels which must be confronted in architectural design.
In the second year and third year students take modules in environmental issues, structures, history, urban planning, restoration, and appraisal, along with mono-disciplinary workshops and multidisciplinary ateliers that address design problem at different levels, with in-depth exploration of themes ranging from building in already-built areas to realisation of new projects, and development of the concept of architectural and urban sustainability.
There are also elective modules which will enable students to address different design and conceptual aspects, including design of detail, interior architecture, sound design, lighting and energy techniques, materials science, landscape, and social, geographical and economic problems of urban and territorial transformation.
Progression
This programme complies with the provisions of Decree 270/2004 of Italian Law thus allowing the graduates in Architecture to access relevant MSc degree programmes globally

3 A-levels and 3 GCSEs. Subjects to include Maths and at least 3 subjects relevant to the programme
Leaving Certificate showing at least 6 subjects of which at least 2 Higher Level subjects (at least Grade H5) Subjects to include Maths and at least 3 subjects relevant to the programme
