Programme profile
Today's business life demands graduates who are trained to look across borders and are familiar with working with people from different countries and cultures. This programme enables students to acquire wide knowledge of international management, organisation, marketing and finance. Furthermore, relevant professional skills like intercultural teamwork, planning and communication are developed. You will spend at least a year abroad.
By extending your study abroad period, it is possible to opt for a Double Degree. This will give you a degree of Avans University of Applied Sciences and a degree of one of our partner institutes. The university has partners in Mexico, Germany, France, Italy and USA,
Programme content
Foundation phase
In Year 1 you will gain basic knowledge that you will apply in real-life business cases, and later in your work placements. The topics focus on marketing, finance, statistics and business processes. You will do group projects and visit international companies. And you will practice business skills, such as how to conduct meetings and think creatively.
Advanced phase
Year 2 is about deepening and applying knowledge. You will take subjects like project management and corporate culture, and do a work placement. Year 3 deals with International Business Operations, focusing on law, supply chain, business and currency risks. You will follow an exchange programme or complete a minor to expand or deepen your knowledge and skills. The first semester of year 4 is about Strategic Business Decisions. In the second semester, you will do your graduation internship.
Progression
The university doesn't currently offer a related Masters programme, taught through English
Entry Requirements
2 A/S Levels and 4 GCSEs OR relevant BETEC Level 3 Extended Diploma
Five passes at Leaving Cert (minimum 200 points) OR relevant QQi/FETAC Level 5. Subjects to include Maths.
