Programme profile

The goal of this programme is to educate qualified engineers specialised in either electronics design or sensor systems. To be a specialist in electronics engineering you should have a profound knowledge in mathematics and physics, together with a broad understanding in different fields of electronics, such as wireless communication, sensors, embedded systems and EMC.

The programme consists of theoretical studies, combined closely with practical work, including laboratory and project work, hands-on experience in manufacturing circuits and systems and also practical on-the-job learning. The student will gain language and communication as well as business skills to enhance engineering competence.

Core Studies:
including subjects in the following areas : Mathematics, Mechanics, Physics, Circuit Analysis, Intoduction to Electric Power Engineering, Digital Electronics, Finnish Language

Professional Studies:
Analogue Electronics; Digital Electronics; Microcontrollers; Introduction to Programming; CAD in Electronics; Electromagnetic Compatibility; Radio Engineering & Telecommunications; Production of Electronics; Electric Measurements

Electronics Specialisations:
Embedded Systems; Sensors; Wireless Communications; Power Electronics; Electronics & EMC

The university currently offers no related Masters programme, taught through English

3 A-levels + 3 GCSEs

Six subjects at Leaving Certificate including at least two 2 at H5
