This programme was launched in 2011, when the university enrolled 15 students on its programme taught through English.
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University has been training students in Veterinary Medicine since 1994. In 1999 the Faculty obtained its first accreditation for training students at M.Sc. level and the "veterinary surgeon" professional qualification
Programme content
This 5.5 year programme ends with students graduating by sitting a State Exam and are awarded the qualification “Veterinary Surgeon” and the degree “Master of Sciences”
Practical training s an important element of the programme and it includes three practical rotations – after the 6th, 8th and 10th semesters. The first practice concerns Animal Science and its duration is two weeks. The second practice concerns clinical practice and its duration is four weeks. The third (probation) internship is the last stage (before getting the diploma) of the students’ training and it has characteristics of a professional specialization. The institutions for implementation of these practices are livestock institutes and husbandry complexes, agricultural cooperatives, private farms, or vet-clinics. There is a possibility of performing this intenship abroad , subject to conditions.
