With about 2000 students, Kajaani University of Applied Sciences is a multidisciplinary centre of higher education. All its activities are located within a single campus area near the city centre. It offers programmes in five areas: Social Sciences, Business & Administration; natural Sciences; Technology, Communication & Transport; Social Services, Health & Sports; Tourism, Catering and Domestic Services. Three of its bachelors programmes taught through English.
Recently, Kajaani University of Applied Sciences scored highest in a survey of 25 Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences conducted by Finland's Talouselama newspaper.
