Radboud University, one of the top 10 educational establishments in the Netherlands, was established in 1923 in Nijmegen, the oldest city in the country. The university has seven faculties -Â Arts, Law, Medical Sciences, Philosophy & Religion, Science, Social Sciences, Management.
The university has over 17,500 students, of whom some 4,500 are first years. The university is proud of its personal style of teaching - offering plenty of opportunity to work closely with instructors and fellow students in small seminars - ensuring that the university does not become a mere 'degree factory. It does not regard students as consumers of education but as individuals who accept an active role and responsibility in both their academic education and personal development.
