Flensburg, with a population of about 86,000, is situated in the north of Schleswig-Holstein, on the German-Danish border. Apart from Westerland on the island of Sylt, it is Germany's northernmost town. Flensburg lies at the innermost tip of the Flensburg Fjord, an inlet of the Baltic Sea. offers a nice shopping district with old houses and gardens as well as a variety of museums and churches. The harbour is the hosting place for sailing regatta and events.
