Founded in In 1912, as a department in the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Iași, then as an independent faculty in its own right, in 1933. The faculty became, 1n 1951, an independent institution, the Agronomic Institute of Iași, which, in 2021, became the “Ion Ionescu de la Brad" Iasi University of Life Sciences (IULS).
Iasi University of Life Sciences (IULS) is a specialized institution, offering training in the areas of agriculture and animal sciences.
The university has about 4200 students in four faculties, each offering various specialisations: Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Sciences and Veterinary Science.
