University of Veterinary Medicine, Budapest





Until 2016, UVM Budapest was the veterinary faculty of Szent Istvan Uiversity, a large and respected multi-faculty university. The faculty has now split from the university to set up in its own right

The university and its Small Animal Clinic, are situated in the centre of Budapest and its Large Animal Clinic is in a rural environment, 30 km from the city.

Current annual enrolment is about 100, 120 and 120 students for the Hungarian, German and English programmes, respectively. This means that we have a total of 1,000 students at the veterinary school. The English-language programme at the university, one of the first to be established in mainland Europe, was instituted in 1992.

There is no on-campus accommodation, however the university runs a student dormitory in a suburban location: rent is Eur 225 per month for a shared room [3 students per room]
