Linköping, founded in the twelfth century, is a city in southern Sweden, with a population of nearly 160,000. It is the seventh largest city in Sweden. The city celebrated its 700th anniversary in 1987 but these days, it is known for its university and its high-technology industry. Linköping wants to create a sustainable development of the city and therefore plans to become a carbon neutral community by 2025.
Linköping is a vibrant city with a rich cultural life, including an exciting mix of art, theatre, history, concerts, markets, festivals and sporting events, and an interesting variety of castles and canals
